Nandamuri Bala Krishna(NBK)

Nandamuri Tarakarama Rao(NTR) was a legend when it comes to not only telugu cinema but also Indian cinema. He was the one who showed to the world(or atleast to India ...as not all ppl worship Rama or Krishna or any mythological gods tht Indian ppl worship) how the GOD looks like. His histrionics were just the best even to date(I agree tht even chiru(whom myself and most other ppl agree is the other most influential star in Telugu cinema) may not match when it comes to playing those mythological roles). Yes I and aslo the whole world agrees that he is man with great acting talent. He could don almost any role with absolute ease. But like any other big star(in most of the cases), he too couldn't judge when to quit the films and did some below par films in his later years of life. But may be this is not the point of concern here. So all in all NTR is undoubtedly the BEST actor in Telugu Film Industry(Though being a very very ardent fan of Megastar Chiru, I agree to this particular point , as that is true).Hence he is called "Natasarabouma".

Coming to Megastar. He rose to the greatest of the heights today from the lowest of the roles he played in his formative years. He was like a perfect role model for the general populace who wanted to make it Big in Telugu Cinema. Chiru did all sorts of roles, like villain characters in his initial years to the most influential roles of late. He showed that he could do any kind of role or could display great histrionics with commendable ease. These films could make u remember his varied performances:Khaidi, Abhilasha, Punnami Nagu, Subhalekha, Challenge, Vijetha, chatabbayi, Aaradhana, Pasivadi Pranam, swayam krushi,Rudraveena,Yamudiki mogudu, kaidi no 786, kondaveeti donga, gang leader, gharana mogudu, apadbhandavudu, mutha mesthri, alluda majaka, hitler, master, sri manjunatha, indra , tagore.......
I have missed many other gr8 movies. This is the repertoire he has. Hence he is the megastar....

Ok by now u might have understood why my title is NBK...

sharaabi

I have not been an ardent fan of Amitabh Bachan or hindi movies during my childhood years. My cousins who mostly were in northern states of India used to always praise about Amitabh's histrionics, which I never bothered to look at. We were more dominated by our AP Amitabh in form of chiru. Ok, but when I saw Sholay in around my 10th standard for the first time, I really liked the performance of Big B. Then onwards I used to sit b4 TV whenever his films were telecast but even then not an ardent fan.
Yesterday we saw Sharaabi(ordered frm Netflix), and again I was amazed at the ease with which Mr.Big B performs any character. Ok leaving aside his immortal charisma in Indian cinema, I was actually amazed to see the differnce in film making and style involved in the films than and now. Sharaabi was made in 1984, and almost all the elments of film-making has undergone a mojor change, I feel. Like the screenplay, sets, music, Dialogues, lyrics in the songs....
Actually in the beginning I felt it boring to see the movie as I was more accustomed to the generation-X movies, but when we sat down and saw the entire movie I felt it has its own effect on the viewer and may be in many cases a longlasting effect than compared to present generation movies.
Hope to see some more flicks of the golden era of Indian cinema.

pawan's antics.

He is a bundle of talent. Though his initial movies couldn't be big hits, he showed his talent on screen with the movies-Tholiprema, Thammudu, Badri, and Kushi being super duper hits. He became a super star in his own way. But then with superstardom and success comes over-confidence, which is the major hurdle that new stars have to ovecome to become a long-lasting great hero. In this particular case megastar chiru could really handle it in a very good way.
So coming to pawan with those hits he thought he could very well do all the elements in film-making by himself(like direction, stunts, choregarphy et.al), and directed the film-"johnny". It was an utter flop. Then under the tutelage of chiru he supposedly came two steps back(of course for his own good) and ageed to do films under other directors. Just when people started thinking that his next film bagaram will bring him the fame that kushi has brought, I hear that he is going to direct another film by his own self, with no songs and no heroines.
May GOD save this talent from being washed away.
Hope he will become a true successor to Megastar Chiru.

first reading on a biography.

Just completed reading my first book on biography(on Dean W Colvard, he is more famous in our univ on whose name stands our union-the food canteen). It was like going thru one's life very closely and trying to get to know his character and his strengths and weaknesses. Felt tht writing a biography is a complex job as a lot of roaming and meeting all kinds of ppl related to the person on whom the biograogy is to be written on. May be more or less autobiography is a much more easier task. Got to read one too.

job travails

even though i m not in the thick of the things in respect to job hunt. I feel the time is soon coming on and I feel it. There seems to be some undercurrent always flowing when a crucial thing is going to happen in ones life. Do u ever notice tht...it kicks u up most of the times and help u achiecve tht extra tht u have been longing for a long time. May be I am not able to put it in right words...but Yeah the time has once again come for a major change in my life soon in the form of me joining a job....ha ha ....and also may be not the title aptly suits whtever I have written.

katrina.

hmm. It was a major blow. We were given holidays on monday and tuesday at our univ. The power was gone from monday evening till noon of tuesday. On monday night I enjoyed the strong winds in the rain with my pal. We did feel tht the winds were indeed quite strong. But we had realized the havoc brought abt by Ms.Katrina only on tuesday afternoon when we could switch on tv. New Orleans was under water as it was below the sea level and the city was just flooded. And the brunt of the hurricane was beared by the coastal cities of Mississippi(Biloxi, Gulfport). I got a few calls frm near n dear abt my safety as Mississippi was in headlines of not only US news but also on international. Yest I heard tht the price of gas has gone up considerably due to the hurricane, I was happy tht I dint buy a car which was hindering back in my mind for a few days now. But with this hurricane, I dropped the whole Idea of buying the car...who wants to take the extra burden of gas.
I donated some amt to red cross as I couldnt just sit and do nothing for the havoc and destruction brought abt by the katrina.
Now the days are coming to normalcy. But Nature has its own hard ways to release its fury.
