dreams reflect our thoughts

1)I read a novel before sleeping the other day. In that novel a character in a instance sees a snake and shivers.
To my surprise I had real horrible dreams of snakes tht night.
2)I played tennis for 3 hrs one evening. And once again I saw the dreams of myself serving again and again and winning the games tht night.
3)I was going to office and my car escaped a wreak. On tht night I again got dreams of my car getting damaged.

I used to get such wierd dreams before too, but the frequency with which they r coming these days is alarming for me. I need to google out on whts the reason for tht....
does anyone have such experiences at alarming regularity???
