gandhi vs others

We had a very passionate discussion the other day(due to katrina power was gone for the whole night)on gandhi and his principles and the others(which include bagath singh, subhas chandra bose etc...). One group was on gandhian side and the other was on the side of others. But when the discussion was going very intense I felt neither of the groups had enough knowledge on either of the ways freedom struggle was done. I thought why not put it in my blog so that good sources might be suggested to read on about the gandhian and other ways of freedom struggle. Do pour in your thoughts and sources for more knowledge(preferabbly books and not the net).

About Gandhi and his principle I guess his own autobiography is best. But may I know what was te discussion about, was it on his way of achieving independence or parition or anything else. As I would like to add on the things, as you know I am always ready for debating and that too when our club is in dicussion.

Principles of Mahatma were right according to me, but independence struggle should have been by the way Rani Jhani, Tantia tope,Bose,Bhagat Singh fought. it is not because we would have got Independence earlier but because the world would have looked at us in a different way. We could have been the nation that has defeated British empire which was considered to be one of the deadliest at that time and would have been involved in world poilitcs and also in security council. Only now the world thinks that we are a pwoerful nation that too because we are the top defense buyer's of 2004-2005. We fighting to get into security council.

And domestically... I will post later as I need to go now

me thinks... thinks a lot... goes crazy..!

both the ways are good enough to get the freedom. Gandhian way proved more effective. In a way it made a large difference. Not only Indian people... even other countries supported the nonviolence. it helped in gaining sympathy. with this pressure internal as well as external.. british people had no other choice.

if it were an armed revolution.. i don't think we would have got our freedom that early...

this is my generic view... am not into HISTORY.. :D
